10 days to go!!!

Well - here I am...37 1/2 weeks in all my glory! I have to be honest for a minute...I really thought I would gain a ridiculous amount of weight and my face would swell like crazy, but I am actually pretty proud of myself. I've enjoyed some good food, but definitely haven't gone overboard! Who's to say how the next 10 days will go though. I'm going to enjoy them!
We met with Dr. Garcia today and we are officially scheduled to have Baby Flannagan on Friday, July 10th at 1:00pm! I am so stinking excited and feel like the next ten days are going to go by so SLOW, but I am going to try and relax, sleep, do some fun things. Any suggestions on things I need to do before baby comes?

Lots of people are wondering...Why do you have to have a c-section? In a nutshell, I have a blood immune disorder called ITP. I never knew I had this until they started doing all the blood work. It's really no big deal, I just have a very low level of platelets (red blood cells). Unfortunately, they will not administer an epidural to anyone who has below 100,000 and I have been ranging from 55,000-85,000 since I have been seeing my hemotologist weekly. Dr. Garcia said he only sees cases like this 1 or 2 times a year!!Per my doctors recommendation along with my extreme "babyness" when it comes to pain, we decided the best route was a c-section under general anesthesia. It's not ideal to be completely asleep - ESPECIALLY when I don't know the sex of the baby, but I have been so blessed with this pregnancy. So...regardless of how we are having this baby - we are SO stoked! In the words of cheesy Jillian the Bachelorette, this whole thing is going to be "wicked"! (oh dear, why do I watch the show...seriously I need help!)

On another note - look at our only child...sweet Belle. Isn't she the cutest! (Julee - I know she isn't the CUTEST dog in your eyes because she isn't a "sheeba", but can I win the award for cutest lab?!!!)

I can't wait to see her with Baby Flannagan! She knows somethings up!

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!

So...tomorrow I go to see my favorite person...Dr. Garcia! (he is the BEST dr. ever!!!). He is going to decide if we are going to have the baby on the 6th or 13th tomorrow. I'm kind of hoping for the 6th...A WEEK FROM TODAY! I am ready to meet lil bit. AND - I am really uncomfortable now - 2 weeks early sounds GREAT to me!

Thought I'd change up my blog while I have some time...it may change again after baby comes - but this is fun for now.

Here is just a long list of pregnancy thoughts I have had or am currently having. Maybe some of you can relate...

  • There is a love/hate relationship with food. I totally am enjoying eating, but yet half the time I can't eat what I want because I'm too full.
  • Along with the love/hate relationship - I find myself "dieting" the day before my dr. appt's so it doesn't look like I have gained so much weight - but I have only gained 20 lbs so I can't really complain!
  • I continually forget I have a massive tummy when getting into booths at restaurants. I seem to always scrape my belly going in - you think I would have this down by now!
  • Chuck is an UNBELIEVABLE servant. He has taken ridiculous care of me. He waits on me hand and foot and his hand is always there to push me up off the couch, help me in or out of bed...or refill my water just as we are getting comfy in bed :)
  • I LOVE playing with the baby inside of me. Baby Flan and I play hide and go seek. I find a little foot or arm and then I move it around...baby then hides....then I find another part to move around. So fun!
  • I had a dream this week it is a boy!....Then Chuck dreamed it was a girl the next night...
  • Naming a baby is a big responsibility - I mean...they are stuck with it forever! Will it suit them right? Will it be an OK grown up name? Will he/she ever get made fun of?
  • More to come...

Sending out a message....

Just some things on my wish list. What's on yours?!

Once I have the baby I REALLY want one of these...thanks Jennifer! I am obsessed w/ these! CLICK HERE (i'm thinking size 5?)

Of course - I can't keep up with the world if my subscription isn't renewed! I have to be a mom in the know of the news that matters!

I think it's only fair to ask for this too...I don't want the new one - the old version will suffice!

I'll continue to add over the weekend - :)

Babies, babies everywhere!

Almost two weeks ago I had the BEST lunch date I have had in a while! The girls from our original Buckhead small group got together for lunch! There were 7 of us in the group and 6 are either mommies or have babies on the way!!! Sad that Lauren moved to Seattle, but while she was in town, she took time out to eat some yummies with us!
Christina (due December), Me (due July), Jill & McKinley (born March), Molly (due December), Kelly (Riordan born on June 15th), and Lauren & Nora (born March). It's kind of cool two that we are having them in "two's"....So the first two had girls...Kelly had a boy...so does that mean I will have a boy??!!!

My sweet friend Susan had her little girl, Eliana Cate Ogden - "Ellie" - last Monday. We can't wait to have play dates together!

And here are pics of when we went to visit Kelly, Kelly and Riordan! What a cool name! You pronounce it "rear-den". LOVE a good ole' irish name!! Can't wait to play together!!!

Can't WAIT for our little boy or girl to finally be here!!!!!

i hate robbers.

Well - on Wednesday afternoon our house was broken into! Can you believe it? Like I don't have enough going on in my life right now! Unfortunately Chuck was down in Columbus working so I came home to an open gate, unlocked doors and a broken window in the back! They took all our flat panel tv's, computer, my new Canon digital camera, most of Chucks clothes and a handfull of my clothes. UHHH! So needless to say I broke down after not having a computer for 2 days and bought one yesterday. I must say - however - i got the good end of the deal! I LOVED our iMAC, but always wanted a laptop...so I am now the proud owner of a brand new MacBook Pro - only been out for a week! I LOVE IT!!!

The only sad part of this all was that I had THOUSANDS of photos on iphoto that are irreplaceable, but luckily I had put almost 2,500 online thru picasa so I put them all back on my new computer today :)! You know what I did lose that I am really frustrated about? My MASSIVE excel spreadsheet with everyone's addresses that I had worked SO hard on! I hate being that person that has to say - what is your address?! Now - I will have to be that person again to build it back up. Must do this quickly for baby announcements!!!

On another note - PREGNANCY UPDATE!!! We went to the dr. this week and due to my health issues (platelet thing...) my doctor told us we may schedule a c-section for July 6th! That is in 23 days!!! CRAZY! We will have a definite plan as of June 30th so stay tuned! I'm feeling very big these days....

Just the four of us!

What a treat! On Friday night we spend some much needed time with Kelly & Kelly! They should be having their baby anytime this week and if Kelly doesn't go into labor on her own - she is scheduled to be induced on Monday.  We are 5 weeks apart and they also don't know what they are having!  I will never forget Kelly telling me she was preggers.  Little did I know that I had a little bun in the oven at the time too!  SO FUN!

So we went out for some Mexican on Friday night and then sat on their porch for a few hours and visited - it will never be the same when we get together again!  The boys enjoyed playing "photographer" with our fancy cameras.  By the way - I have GOT to learn how to use my camera before baby comes! Anyone have tips on how to learn to better use it?!

On another note - sweet Belle - I have officially moved her bet to put the bassinet in her old sleeping spot.   Lately she has been sleeping half on her bed and half on the floor.  I think it is because the floor feels cool.  None the less - is she not adorable or what?!

i heart AFLAC.

This weekend before Chuck started the new job, we went and purchased our travel system and put it together.  Thank you to the Flannagans for this wonderful gift!!!

And, I just have one thing to say.  i heart AFLAC.  they are already treating my boy right!

Look at all the fun goodies they gave him.
Ducks, luggage, Vineyard Vines custom ties...

Oh, not to mention that one of Chucks new bosses knew he loved Ozzie Smith and gave him this SIGNED JERSEY? Heck yes.
