Show us your LIFE Friday

I've been wanting to participate in Kelly's Korner "Show us your LIFE" every Friday for a while and I'm diving right in this week. If you don't follow Kelly's blog - you should! She happens to be an OBU alum, which of course I love, but she also is a great writer and quite entertaining. She blogs about everything - check it out and click on the link above.

Today is SHOW US YOUR WEDDING PARTY AND FLOWERS!
We had a big wedding party as neither Chuck or I wanted to leave any of our precious friends out. My only regret is my sisters & sister-in-law weren't bridesmaids. However, it worked out perfect because they were my "wing-girls" and took complete care of me that day like they always do! Thanks Tori & Jeni!!!! I loved the bridesmaids dresses I picked out - very simple and hopefully will never look too out of date when I look back on the pictures. Clearly, they won't ever be worn again by my friends, but do you ever think you will wear any of the dresses you wear in weddings?!

This picture below is my ABSOLUTE favorite picture from the wedding of my friends and I! Everyone who sees it compliments how beautiful my amigas are! Seriously - I have beautiful friends...I am so lucky that their hearts are just a beautiful! I love each of you dearly! I have 3 more of them to marry off!! Who will be next ?!
My neices and nephew were my flower girls and ring bearer! They are so cute and photogenic, but 3 1/2 years later - SO MUCH MORE GROWN UP THAN THIS!!!
Sadly, I don't have any great pictures of my flowers, but all I wanted was my favorite flowers, hydrangeas & calla lillies. My bridesmaids didn't carry flowers - they carried rose bowls with tea candles in them! It was beautiful during a night wedding and they were able to keep they crystal rose bowls after the wedding. The picture below is one of my favorites as well and captures my emotion on the wedding day - I was just so giddy! You can also see my bouquet well in this picture.
And I must mention my music. I had two songs sung in my wedding that I LOVED! The friend that introduced Chuck and I sand a song as my bridesmaids walked down the aisle - How Could I Ask For More by Cindy Morgan. There is a line in the song that deeply touches my heart - "There are questions without answers and flames that never die - heartaches we go through are only blessing in disguise". Powerful huh?! And so true that every relationship we go through prepares us for marriage! And then my best friend sang - When Love Takes You In by Steven Curtis Chapman - check it out. This one is amazing...just google the lyrics and you will know why!

So fun re-living my wedding! 3 1/2 years and now a baby! Just living the dream!

My mommy present...

Before I had Knox, I blogged about some gifts I wanted...AND...Chuck surprised me with the one I wanted the most! A few days after we got home from the hospital I woke up from my nap with a little jewelry box in front of me. I opened it up and in it was the most special ring! THANK YOU JENNIFER for sharing the info on this ring that Josh gave you! I completely forgot to blog about this until today!!!
(It says KNOX MAJOR on it! - Thank you my prince for such a special gift.)

i love your friends! thanks for all the love and support!

Week Two...

What a fun week it has been, especially with my mom here! We have gone out almost everyday and some little adventure or another! I am so lucky to have a mom with time to give. She has been a complete servant - doing all my laundry (all millions of loads I feel like somehow we have done), washing dishes (by hand), dusting my house, mopping my floors, going on many grocery / CVS runs...and even cooking Chuck and I's favorite, CHICKEN FRIED STEAK - YUM! Thanks, Mimi - I will never EVER forget this time we have shared!
Mimi babysat for us on Monday night so we could go on a nice date to celebrate our new bundle of joy! We went to Stoney River for a great dinner - including BLUE CHEESE CHIPS which I wanted the whole time I was pregnant, but couldn't have. I had a glass of champagne and they even gave us a free dessert for our celebration! I can't believe how much more in love with my husband I am. Thank you for always kissing me first babe!
Knox has learned all about two of my favorite foods / restaurants this week. First, I took him to lunch at BARKERS hot dogs (shocker! I know!).

We also went to Five Guys Burgers & Fries for a hamburger - yummy!
We had some more visitors this week! The Leonards came by to see Knox and play for a little bit. They have been such amazing friends to us over the years and we are finally able to share being parents with them!! Katie made my favorite dinner...mmm!!!
Katie came by too meet Mr. Knox too and brought us an AMAZING dessert! Somehow I seem to have a few plate fulls a day - thanks a lot Katie - you are not helping get off the baby weight!
And Uncle Meigs was in town for business and got to come see his nephew! Unfortunately he came on Monday when we went on our date, but he spent some QT with Mimi and Knox. Knox was very happy to meet the rest of the Miller family!
I must share a funny...funny story from this week! Chuck left for the first time this week to go down to Columbus for work while my mom was here to help me. Well, it was a crazy 24 hours! Thank goodness I wasn't by myself! I had told my mom that Knox projectile pooped on Chuck and I when we were changing him when she had run to the store once. She did not believe in such! So...the morning Chuck was gone, my mom was changing his diaper and low and behold, projectile poop came shooting out and went about 3 feet...splattering ALL OVER MY ROCKER and pillow! REALLY??! Dude, this little man has some strong intestines! My mom and I laughed so hard and could barely get another diaper on him.

Then we decided that best way to pass the time while I nursed was to play games (applications) on her iphone and my itouch. How we are so addicted to this retarted chocolate making time management game, I have no idea. Somehow after I would feed, Knox would get put on the couch beside us as we would continue to play for quite a while. My mom finally had to take our phones and hide them because of our addiction. Sad.

To top it off, at the 6am feeding the next morning - I woke up to the power being completely off in the area. Please, someone tell me how you get your baby up, go to the bathroom, change a diaper, get settled for feeding - ALL WHILE THE POWER IS OFF! Again, thank the Lord my mom was in town! We feed by candlelight.

Thanks for keeping up with our adventure and journey - I have such an angel (even though he is a CRAZY pooper!)

We have ONE WEEK under our belt and we off already into week 2!!! It has been AMAZING being at home. Knox has made life pretty easy around our house. He sleeps a lot and we have to wake him up every 3 hours to feed him! Here's what has been going on around here...(I will try to post more often that way the blogs aren't so long!)

Mimi taught us how to bathe Knox...
Belle continued to bond with lil' man - and got some much needed loving from mommy!
2nd night at home we went to Alpharetta for a big family dinner

We've had friends come and visit us at home...
Knox has tried napping in lots of places...his crib...swing...bouncy seat...
Mommy also gets at least one nap a day!!!
First family walk...
